Overclocking a 4790K and feel close to 48ghz overclock This is on an Asus Z97 Pro I am at 134V and using Swiftech 240X watercooler I think I have a bad seat on my paste I have one core running almost 10C cooler than the others For reference, our 4770K hit a brick wall at 46GHz Intel Devil's Canyon Core iK max overclock & temps After many hours of adjustments and tweaking, the best overclock we could reach with 4790K was 48GHz No amount of core voltage or other modifications would allow the chip to move up to 49/5GHz) Even increasing the core voltage to i7 4790k MB Asus VII Hero Ram Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133mhz Can anyone tell me how to setup bios for OC cpu 47ghz or 48ghz for max stability and not high temp and is it worth to oc him Can i OC with multiply only x48 or i need to move voltage too thanks anyway

Ik overclocking to 48Ghz I'm kinda new at this stuff and so I'm overclocking my older i7 4790k and after ordering a corsair H100i v2 to keep it cooler I have finally gotten it up to 48Ghz Stable and at max load it uses 1400v, which means I don't think I won the silicon lottery and will this actually destroy my CPU? Overclocking the i5 4690K to 46GHz improves matters significantly, but the stock i7 4790K clearly keeps the game at 60fps for longer and hands in the best experience overall Overclocking that to I want to overclock it as much as i can but be able to use it for along time, maybe 5 years?
In our tests, we locked all four cores at the same frequency — at 44GHz, our Core iK is technically overclocked by 47% (at least, compared to Overclock I7 4790K, need some help, please Discussion in 'Diehard Overclocking & Case Modifications' started by blue_kid, blue_kid Master Guru for that chip and cooler would be to start at around 122v and something like 46ghz and try messing with the clock and voltage from there AI Overclock Tuner XMP BCLK 100 CPU Core Ratio 47 All Cores Synced Max CPU Cache Ratio 42 Internal PLL Overvoltage Enabled DRAM DDRMHz CPU Core Voltage 1372v Manual (Will change to Adaptive once stable) CPU Cache Voltage 12v Manual (Will change to Adaptive once stable) CPU Input Voltage 19v DRAM Voltage 15v SVID Support
I am currently overclocking and stress testing with Intel XTU My current overclock is at 44Ghz (All the time) with 1248V (Stock voltage before any overclock) temps never go above 68c on my NHU14s with MX4 Any help would be The 4790K was stable enough at 47GHz to run some benchmarks, but I'd say 46GHz is the more reasonable overclocking limit for daily use, unless you have a much beefier cooler than this one There is no real point in overclocking the 4790K to 44Ghz when the turbo boost already achieves it Leaving it on auto is likely raising the voltage higher than it really needs to be and causing increased temps and in return increased fan speeds to compensate Unless you want to overclock further than 44Ghz just leave it alone
Hey guys, been a very long time since I had some new gear to play with 4790K is on preorder, hoping to get it soon!Hi, this is my attempt and success of the 4790k overclock at 48Ghz Stable! The 4790k is really picky from my experience, so try what I said I don't own this motherboard, but looking at the manuals, you go to the overclock tab, set the "CPU Multiplier Control" to manual, and set "CPU Multiplier Setting", Core "1 4 Ratio" and the "Non Turbo Ratio Override" to 47 (for a 47Ghz OC), leave the "Ring Ratio" on auto
When we reviewed the Intel Core i7 4790K processor (Devils Canyon) the Haswell based processor refused to overclock over 4800 MHz So why not purchase a binned Silicon Lottery processor that is Overclocking the 4790K was very easy;Yes, I know it's older!
Hi I found a stable overclock for my i7 4790k at 46Ghz at 1230v How do I enter in the adaptive voltage settings for this on my Maximus Hero VII? So, 4790K is still a fine CPU but juuuust starting to get long in the tooth Want to eke more out of it I'm on an Asus Z97A UEFI BIOS and I've had misfiring results with overclocking I can get 45GHz but only by ramping the voltage up to around 1450 and even then it's not overly stable I can't help but feel I'm missing the subtlety to doFor months now I've been trying to overclock my 4790k CPU I've been really struggling! Intel iK Results Our iK sample actually had a high stock voltage – 1273 volts at load In chatting with other reviewers and overclockers, it would seem that 1190 volts is another
It's been stated that the 5th Gen CPU's overclock better with adaptive voltage rather than fixed voltage Getting a 46 GHz OC at less than 13v is pretty decent Just because the 4790k is set to 4 GHz out of the box doesn't mean it achieves the same clock increase as a 4770k would from a much lower outset E Most people recommend staying under 130v for a 24/7 overclock on the 4790k (assuming your temps are good) If you are actually stable at 48 @ 12, than that is amazing My 4790k needs 123v for just 45, and the temps are not great either with a mid range air cooler I have (probably needs a delid to fix temps) How much Voltage is considered 'safe' for iK?
Hey What is the max safe voltage for ik when overclocking with water cooling Would it be safe to run this cpu with 13 max 14 core voltage for everyday use (gaming etc) if temps are okay under max load? hi all im new here i neet to know if cache voltage is too high and what you recommend me this is my i7 4790k max cache ratio voltage 24/7 Sign in to follow this Followers 0 i7 4790k max cache when I did the 4770k overclocking guide and around the web Quote;Sidebar Forums Hardware Overclocking Previous Next Sort by votes G Guest Guest #1 The stock voltage is between 129 and 131 at full load in Aida64, and stock

I plan to use this cpu maybe for another 12 years, so if it can take over 13 volts Intel Core iK Devil's Canyon CPU Overclocking The Intel Core iK processor starts out life with a 40GHz base clock and can boost up to 44GHz We heard that reaching 47GHz should Architecturally, Core iK is the same as its predecessor If you want to know more about Haswell, check out The Core iK Review Haswell Is
But we really need a thread on the lovely XS that I've been a member on for over a decade now Seems like just yesterday I signed up! Could someone please help me understand what my stock voltage should be for my 4790k I've seen and read several articles saying 100 115 How can you tell i've seen other also say its as high as 125, and that is just insane I plan to overclock Overclocking Intel ik How much it too much voltage?
Overclocking is always limited by two factors;I'm kinda a newb at At a core voltage of 125 V (which is where we've settled for safety on overclocking Haswell) fully threaded workloads are fine at 44 GHz, while 47 GHz was the peak in
Luck of draw I guess, but my i7 4790K isn't worth overclocking, 44Ghz to 48GHz requires a huge voltage increase and noise level go from silent to a noticeable (annoying) Great CPU, but if overclocking if your thing, it's probably not worth it We can't overclock the Core iK enough to compare it against either of these two cores — so we decided to treat 35GHz as the baseline and confine ourselves to the power consumption/clockI've got a corsair h100 v2 cpu cooler, and an Asus Maximus Ranger Vii motherboard I have an overclock stable right now at 44 Ghz, with a 125 voltage Temps are very low (high 50s, low 60s) and I want to
I just recently got a new setup Intel 4790k, MSI z97 gaming, Patriot Viperx ddr3 1866, and H100i cooler I was just wondering how easy is it to get to 45ghz stable with this setup and if anyone has any tips for me I use to have a q9450 and The improved overclocking capability of our 4790K, in comparison to the retail 4770K, helps to reduce voltage requirements and therefore power consumption levels when overclockedShare this post Link to post Share on other sites ppdemo ppdemo
Each processor is unique in voltage tolerance, thermal behavior and overclocking potential, which is often referred to as the "silicon lottery" or luck of the drawPosted in Internal Hardware Topic is partially selfexplanatory, after reading, one will see that while I can build a PC, even overclock oneThe only things needed to be touched in the BIOS were the CPU voltage and the CPU multiplier The process for this was to see how far it would go while staying stable Starting the CPU voltage at a high level of 145v was done to find the highest stable clock, which ended up being 47GHz
Overclock 4790k GA Z97XUD3H Easy Bios Settings Many people have this setup so I thought it would be interesting to have a thread to post our settings on I am a casual clocker I just want a stable clock speed to run without hassle on a daily basis with everything working right My other rig is a 2600k 34 which I clocked to a stable 46LOL I know the 4770k should be 13v or under as a safe overclock, so what about the 4790K?Voltage and temperature No two processors are identical;
I have managed to overclock my non K CPU from 100 to 1065 bclk My current CPU speed is 422 GHz and the system is completly stable under this overclock But if I set the bclk to 107 or up, it becomes unstable Is it possible to overclock CPU even further by changing voltage or RAM timings orI actually have a 4770k right now, but it's a bad clocker so hoping the 4790K will make me excited to OC again! See, with a Core iK we can leave our BIOS voltage settings at auto, weirdly enough Devils Canyon 4790K was harder to overclock compared to the 4770K We actually needed to pump 140 Volts
So I popped in a new Processor today and it booted up quickly at 48Ghz with a voltage of 139v Now it wasn't stable past the first minutes of Prime but my temps were 60C tops Overclocking Voltages on ik Thread starter Guest;It has a boost clock of 44 anyways so i was thinking of 46ghz atleasT and would like to go higher, so once again whats the highest safe voltage i can get at?
Leave everything else on auto voltage and leave uncore on default ratio you can increase uncore afterwards although overclocking uncore doesn't add much Overclocking the uncore can lead to stability issues and there's little or no benefit running it at a 11 ratio ie 47x if the cpu ratio is 47x Keen to find out exactly what our chip was capable of, we set high voltage and power settings and strived to find our 4790K's overclocking limit Our voltage
